Hi I have multiple Exchange 2010 servers in a Parent and Child Domain setup.  Server01 in domain.local and Server02 in site2.domain.local

For some reason when sending external emails they are often being rejected by each other but not going out of the send connector. ??

Hi,

After a brand new installation of Exchange 2013 I have problem with multipart/mixed messages:

some emails that was correctly handled by the old 2007 Exchange are now "broken" and it seems to be a MIME wrong decode..

this is the header of a message received with the old Exchange server

Exchange will recieve mail but won't send until...

I have this issue with an SBS 2008 server with Exchange 2007. Incoming mail works fine with no problems but outgoing mail get stuck in queue. The weird thing is if I open server manager and click on hub transport immediately mail will start flowing through.

I do have an issue with http://blogs.msdn.com/b/keithmg/archive/2009/01/06/exchange-topology-discovery-failed-error-0x80040a02-dsc-e-no-suitable-cdc.aspx  but I have a problem. Permissions were not the fix. When I enable IPv6 outgoing mail stop immediately and the mail troubleshooter says the server is not compatible with IPv6.

So here I am stuck. :(

Edit:I have disabled IPv6 in the router

Connectors between Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2013

Hello, I'm interested in configuration the connector between exchange 2003 server and exchange 2013. Both servers are in the same network of the corporation and in different forests. I configured Trusts and DNS between domains and configured the connectors between the servers in accordance with the documentation to help on technet.

As a result, I can send mail from the server 2003 to 2013, but can not receive mail from 2013 exchange server on exchange 2003. Could this be the reason that 2003 exchange not support email sent from 2013 exchange or cause configuration connectors?

In Message Queue Server 2013 an error 451 4.4.0 Error Encountered while communicating with primary target IP adress: "421 4.4.2 Connection dropped due socketerror.

I was looking for information about this error, but on the domain and exchange server all settings are OK.

Thanks in advance for your reply!

Disclaimer and Outlook Stationery Issue

We have the disclaimer rule issue that is explained in kb2896304.  With the disclaimer rule enabled (and no matter how it is configured, how the text is formatted, etc.), when someone sends an email from Outlook and they have some stationery theme (background image) configured, a square picture of the background is inserted at the beginning of the email and everything winds up pushed down below it when the recipient reads the email.  So it initially appears to be a blank email but if you scroll down you can then see the text (followed by the appended disclaimer).  The above kb article describes it perfectly but refers to this as being a problem in Exchange 2010 and is addressed (fixed) in RU3 for Exchange 2010 SP3.  The problem for me is that I am experiencing the exact same issue but I have Exchange 2013 with CU2.  CU3 is out for Exchange 2013 and so just in case this was fixed in CU3 for Exchange 2013 but they just didn't mention it, I did install CU3 on my Exchange server (in a VM test sandbox) but the problem still exists.  Nothing in the kb article nor anything I found elsewhere describes the root cause of this problem so I'm at a loss as to what to do at this point.  This is obviously not too big of a deal since it only happens when people use some Outlook theme.  But the cause is not apparent to the users and they would never suspect that it has to do with the disclaimer statement.  Also, the sender would never know that it is happening since it is only a problem seen by the recipient (after the disclaimer rule has manipulated the email).  Has anyone seen this issue in their 2013 environment as well?  If so, have you found any workaround or any more information about it?

Exchange 2013 Receive connector connector accepting spam mails.

I have problem of spam mails which my Exchange 2013 Receive connector accepting which was coming from different source from external domain, and in that From address and recipient address is also different than my domain. I tried to block these domainswith help of Antispam feature by IP, but IP also changing frequently it is not fixed and these spam mails are coming around five to seven thousands in an hour. Because of this spams my mail flow working slowly and queue folder taking space in my C Drive.

Please give me some solution or configuration, so I can block these spams.

Exchange 2013 email spoofing

hello all, (just new to network admin few months in the job)

so to give a bit of background on our system we have a exchange 2013 server with a external and internal domains, for instance our internal domain is abcinternal.co.uk used for our systems and users ect and our external domain is abcexternal.com our mail server is mail.abcexternal.com used for emails on ip xxx.xxx.183.114

Internal Domain - abcinternal.co.uk

External Domain - abcexternal.com

issue we have been having recently is we have been getting domain spoofed i have setup a SPF record on our external DNS for abcexternal.com which reads "v=spf1 mx mx:mail.abcexternal.com ip4:xxx.xxx.183.114 -all" but we keep getting spoofed emails even with this, firstly does the SPF record look correct and secondly would i need to create a SPF record for the internal domain on the external DNS too, to give you a example, this is the header from a email that was send recently (spoofed)

any suggestions what i can do to fix this, i know the SCL is high but out SCL filter is very low due to email junk issues

421 4.4.5 Too many messages from this host last hour

Hi, we are in a migration process from a Kerio system to Exchange 2013.

Everything is working fine, except that we have been experiencing this error on the logs and the Exchange 2013 users are getting returned emails.

The remote server is 10.10.10.85

Remote Server at 10.10.10.85 (10.10.10.85) returned '400 4.4.7 Message delayed'
19/12/13 7:21:57 p. m. - Remote Server at 10.10.10.85 (10.10.10.85) returned '451 4.4.0 Primary target IP address responded with: "421 4.4.5 Too many messages from this host last hour." Attempted failover to alternate host, but that did not succeed. Either there are no alternate hosts, or delivery failed to all alternate hosts. The last endpoint attempted was 10.10.10.85:25'

My question is, is Exchange rejecting the messages or is the other system telling Exchange to slow things a bit?

Retry and response 441 4.4.1 Error - Temporary server error. Please try again later. PRX5 When receiving mail from internal servers and scanners

Hello all…

We have a single exchange 2013 server here in our school district – migrated a couple months or so ago. What we are having an issue with now are in-house app servers and network scanners periodically dropping connections to our Exchange server (or vice-versa). I’ve include the pertinent receive log entries below. Not sure what’s causing it. Would we need to use a different receive connector without any tarpit or delay values possibly? I also read that DNS resolution could cause this, but we are getting hellos, and data seems to be sending before the communication error…so this would tell me our DNS resolution has been established seeing how both servers can “find” each other. Using MS DNS\AD here obviously.

Not sure what to do at this point other than add all affected smtp capable scanners\servers to another receive connector that does not have any tarpit\delays configured. Currently the Default Frontend connector is being used to receive smtp for the app servers\scanners

Any help with this is greatly appreciated!

Thanks….Dennis

Can EX relay/forward email if the mailbox was not found?

Hi,
Can I set the following in EX2013: If email arrives-in for an authoritative domain but the specific mailbox doesn't exist, then forward or relay to another custom server/smart host (the custom server is not EX server)?

For example, our domain is: something.com, I want that if email arrives to: nonexisting+mailbox@something.com it will be forwarded to custom, not Exchange, server we have in our network.

Is this possible?

Thanks,
Yonatan

Sending Mail from Web mail to Exchange Server 2010

Am deploying  Ms Exchange Server 2010, but I need you to assist me  to solve a problem.
This is the scenario below:
My client is made up three subsidiaries using same web mail service hosted by a provider.
One of the subsidiaries has decided to deploy their email in-house using Exchange Server 2010. So, while we are expected to migrate these  users to the Exchange server, remaining users from the two subsidiary will still be retained on  hosted web mail.
The users are to retain their email addresses in the new environment.
So far,
I have deployed Exchange Server, exchanging mail within the local network and outside domain like  yahoo.com, gmail.com etc.  This is working fine... OWA is also working fine.
Technical details:
Port 25 enabled on the firewall,
External registered domain: tsllimited.com
Host name : mail.tsllimited.com
local domain:tsl.local
ISP has created MX record to tsllimited.
Since users are expected to retain their email addresses we configured  REPLY AS  to use   tsllimited.com (eg user1@tsllimited.com) so users are currently using same address format  as they have on the web mail.
But there is a problem, that is :
We can send mail to the hosted web mail  from the exchange server , but receivers can not deliver mail to the Exchange server from the web mail.
What do we need to solve this problem. PLS  HELP!!!!

Powershell script to add multiple domains to a transport rule

I have a transport rule in Exchange 2013 that I created in the EAC (mail flow>rules).  it is set so *Apply this rule if.. the sender's domain is..  and then I entered a few domains.

I want to use a powershell script to enter multiple domains into the senderdomainis parameter using the set-transportrule.  I would like to do this from a csv input file.  The file has  header row of domains and then the domains are listed under it.  This is also used successfully in a script that does content and sender id filter additions.

I tried the following:

$allowed = import-csv c:\temp\allowed.csv
$Rule=get-transportrule "safe domain List"
$Senderdomains =$rule.senderdomainis
foreach($row in $allowed)
{
$Senderdomains +=$row.domain
}
#Set-Transportrule "Safe Domain List" -senderdomainis $Senderdomains

It just adds a long line of all the domains mashed together without separation.

Any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks.

Hi,

We are using MS Exchange 2010 with HUB and CAS on same Server and third party SMTP Gateway is used for external mail flow.

We came to know that some unwanted mail has been sent and We wanted to know the source/origin from which machine/IP mail has been sent.

1) We wanted to whether mail has been sent from internal Network or Internet.

2) Wanted to know the Source Machine/IP even if mail has been sent using Internet like OutlookAnywhere or OWA etc.

3) We also wanted to know how to track if some one is sending mail from external id like Yahoo,Gmail to Exchange user and we wanted to know the source Machine/IP.

Kindly help

Regards:Mahesh
